Polyether Amines
- Thorcomind D-2000
It is a difunctional primary amine with repeat oxypropylene units in the backbone. Thorcomine D-2000 has a light color and low viscosity with an average molecular weight of approximately 2000. It is completely miscible in a wide variety of solvents, only slightly in water. Thorcomind D-2000 has found wide use in polyurethane and polyurea applications. In epoxy systems, it adds flexibility and toughness, for adhesives applications it exhibits enhanced peel strength. An interesting application for Thorcomine D-2000 is in epoxy systems, for metal priming. Other applications inlcude oil recovery chemicals and polyamide fibers. Salts of Thorcomine D-2000 can be used as premium cutting and metal working fluids.
- Thorcomine D-230
It is a difunctional primary amine characterized by oxypropylene units in the backbone. Thorcomine D-230 is a clear liquid with an amine-like odor and an avergae molecular weight of 230. It provides tough, clear impact resistant coatings, castings and adhesives. It reacts with carboxylic acids to form hot melt adhesives and salts may be formed readily for surfactant use. Thorcomine D-230 is completely miscible with a wide variety of solvents, including water.
