Light Stabilizers (HALS)
- BLS® 119
It is useful for the light stabilization of polyolefins, particularly polypropylene fibers and polyethylene-based agricultural films. It can also be used for the light stabilization of styrenic polymers (ABS, ASA), polyamides (especially fibers), thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU), polyacetal and powder coatings.
- BLS® 123
Coatings applications in which BLS 123 is recommended include automotive and industrial coatings, decorative paints, and wood stains or varnishes, including both waterborne and solvent-based systems. Its low basicity makes it ideal for use in coatings that cure with an acid catalyst.
- BLS® 1622
It is a polymeric HALS favorable for applications where low volatility and a low melting range are required. BLS 1622 is highly effective in pigmented systems and systems using carbon black. Recommended substrates include: polyethylene, polypropylene, unsaturated polyester, styrenics, EVA, polyacetals, polyurethane, acrylics and engineering plastics. Typical end use applications include adhesives, sealants, elastomers, fibers and films. BLS 1622 can be combined with other Mayzo HALS or UV absorbers to attain synergistic effects.
- BLS® 1770
It is a hindered amine light stabilizer offering excellent protection against ultraviolet degradation. BLS 1770 areas of application includes polypropylene, impact modified polypropylene, TPO, EPDM, polystyrene, impact polystyrene, ABS, SAN, ASA, and polyurethanes. In addition, BLS 1770 can be highly effective in polyacetals and polyamides. BLS 1770 is particularly effective in polypropylene thick sections, but it can also be used for articles with a high specific surface area such as films and tapes.
- BLS® 1944
It is a polymeric hindered amine light stabilizer offering excellent protection against ultraviolet degradation. BLS 1944 areas of application include polyolefins (polypropylene, polyethylene), olefin copolymers such as EVA as well as blends of polypropylene with elastomers. In addition, BLS 1944 can be highly effective in polyacetals polyamides, polyurethanes, flexible and rigid PVC, as well as PVC blends and in some styrenic elastomer and adhesive specialty applications.
- BLS® 292
It is recommended in coating applications including coil coatings, automotive coatings, radiation curable coatings, paints, inks and wood stains. Coating systems in which BLS 292 is ideal include one and two-component polyurethanes, thermosetting and thermoplastic acrylics (physical drying), water borne acrylics, radiation curable acrylics, alkyds, and polyesters. BLS 292 can also be used in combination with UV absorbers to provide significantly enhanced performance.
- BLS® 783
It is a synergistic blend of polymeric hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) developed for use in polyolefins. Recommended applications include polyethylene (HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE) moldings, films, and tapes, olefin copolymer (EVA) films, and polypropylene fibers and films.
