What is Diethyl Maleate (DEM)?
Diethyl Maleate is a key raw material in the production of the polyaspartates used in polyurea coatings and foams. It is used as an additive and intermediate for plastics, pigments, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products. Additionally, it is an intermediate in the production of paints, adhesives, and copolymers.
What is Neopentyl Glycol (NPG)?
Neopentyl Glycol is most popularly used in the production of unsaturated resin. It is also used to make free alkyd resin, as well as in the plastics industry in the production of polyurethane foam plastics and for elastomer plasticizers. Additional uses for NPG include:
- Production of surfactants
- Production of insulation materials
- Production of paints
Benefits and Applications
Polyurea has many benefits and applications when it comes to floor coatings, including durability, flexible temperature levels, and durable appearance. This product formulation can withstand temperatures as low as -30°F and as high as 140°F. Additionally, Polyurea floor coating is affordable and lasts longer than the less expensive floor coatings.
Another benefit of using Polyurea is that it was designed as an alternative to other coatings that emit harmful gases as they cure. Rather than taking hours or days to cure, Polyurea cures in seconds or minutes.
